Dan grew up in Chico in a rice farming family. He graduated from PV High School and got a Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He started his real estate career in lending in downtown San Francisco developing a knowledge of real estate and experience in some of the more involved real estate deals. While in San Francisco he obtained his real estate broker license. After several years in the city he returned home to Chico and continued in real estate as a property manager while also working on the family farm in which he is still involved.

He acquired IPM in 2019 and increased the portfolio of properties managed as well as the scale of the operation. He enjoys the challenges presented by managing property as well as the interactions with the people he meets in his community. He is currently married with a son and daughter and lives in Durham.
